Asthma Treatment

I’ve been hosting an ebook from asthma therapist Janet Brindley on the sciencebase site these last few weeks, but hadn’t really read it myself, despite being an asthma sufferer for more than fifteen years (basically since I moved to Cambridge). I’ve only been working on her exercises since the New Year, but I have to confess they’ve already made a difference to me - I’m less breathless than I usually am and haven’t needed to use my salbutamol inhaler for at least three days, which is a winter time record.

Anyway, you can read more about Brindley’s ebook on the Asthma Treatment page.

For those following my sorry tale more closely than can possibly be healthy, I’ve not had to take any Salbutamol for almost a month now using Brindley’s guidebook. For anyone interested in the underlying principles of her technique search PubMed for Buteyko Method and pranayama (yoga breathing exercises).
