ChemSketch Nanotube

Posted in Chemistry at 8:22 am by David Bradley -- 3 Comments; add your comment

A visitor to Sciencebase hit the site while searching on Google for “chemsketch nanotube”, which is not particularly odd. But, were they looking for a chemical sketch of a nanotube or specifically a file in the ChemSketch format from my colleagues at ACD/Labs. Whatever. Anyone after a chemical sketch can download ChemSketch for free, more than 450,000 visitors have done so already.

Meanwhile, if I find a nanotube file, I’ll post it here.

Dr.rer.nat. Asmus A. Meyer-Plath of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin, Germany, kindly emailed me a series of nanotube structures he created with ACD/Labs ChemSketch. They’re picture perfect. If any nanotube researchers out there need nanotube sketches please let me know and I will put you in touch with the good Doctor.
