		<description>actually, i think repurposing the blaster will be hip in a couple of months. i should run this by my technically-experienced cohorts, and see what they can do. 

my hope is that the skills and techniques for very simple re-purposing could be taught to many.  hell, if i knew how to jury-rig old bits of gear and make them run even better, i would certainly do that.

i would also like to add that access to discardable technology is related to a certain amount of affluence and expendable income. as far as models for repurposing, we should look at so-called Third World cultures, and see how they have jury-rigged old technologies in order to make them functional (maybe not stylish, but hey, you gotta eat).
