Products have gotten light years better in the past few years and, in my eyes, indisputably better for 99% of applications. Both CFL and LED light bulbs run much cooler than incandescent bulbs, use energy much more efficiently, and do offer saving on your electricity bill. I am a vendor of energy efficient bulbs, so perhaps I am a bit biased, but I don't know why everyone doesn't switch today. In my opinion the savings is not worth the side effects to our health ... In fact its insane. Many people went out and bought these mercury filled light bulbs without the correct information of the dangerous side effects to human health and to the earth. Was this a quick buck gimmick while science are working toward a safer type of energy saving device? What is wrong with the minds of mankind when it comes to the value of a human life and the inviroment in which we live in ... This must stop before we go to far and lose all hope to better our planet. Its so hard to believe we have top people in charge of our safety that are willing to sacrifice the safety and welfare of human life ... nothing should be allowed in the market place until safety and health hazards are no longer a issue ... its really insanity in the worse way. Even if you were to swallow liquid mercury, it would pass thru your digestive track long before your body could "break" any Mercury particles off and pull them into the bloodstream.
