The growing of plants that animals (including we high-minded humans) can eat (and drink) to burn as transport fuel is the most foolish thing upon which we have embarked. At its worst, it is a scam.

Taxes were originally invented to support the excesses of the Lord  and Lady of the Manor. No government has lost sight of this maxim.
