I remember commenting to one of my daughters&#039; science teachers &quot;I used to be a scientist&quot;, to which the response was &quot;Once a scientist, always a scientist&quot;, which to be honest I found comforting.  

But I struggle now with cognitive disfunction from ME/CFS (far worse than the &quot;fatigue&quot; that some doctors seem to believe is the problem).  I still try and read papers, link correctly, source my references, but it&#039;s an uphill struggle and I&#039;m afraid I&#039;m not doing as well as I&#039;d like.

I&#039;m happy to say that both my girls went in for science in school.  One is now working in Environmental Science, and I don&#039;t think she conforms to the stereotype!  ;-)  Guess she has too much fun for one thing!
